Sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3), commonly known as baking soda, is a natural substance used for various household baking and cleaning purposes. However, its applications extend beyond the kitchen – it is recognized for its potential role in preventing cancer and as a tool for cancer patients to identify and stabilize cancer growth.
Baking Soda and Cancer Healing
Cancer development is complex, with no single cause or cure. The disease initiates damaging activity within tissues and cells, leading to genetic mutations and abnormalities. These cascading effects result in adverse changes to the body’s metabolic processes. Natural health strategies, including the use of baking soda, can play a role in reversing these unhealthy metabolic functions and promoting natural healing dynamics.
The human body is equipped with various buffering systems to optimize internal functions. One such system is pH regulation. Maintaining a healthy body involves a blood pH level of approximately 7.365, slightly alkaline. Regulating pH balance is crucial for overall health and is reliant on healthy lifestyle habits, including a proper diet.
Baking Soda Helps Regulate pH Levels
With its alkalizing (basic) pH of around 9.0, baking soda counteracts the acidity that accumulates in the body. Baking soda is valuable for buffering the pH of cells, tissues, and maintaining voltage homeostasis within cells. It also supports increased oxygenation and carbon dioxide levels. Additionally, baking soda aids in the detoxification process and helps the body heal from radiation exposure and oxidative damage.
Practitioners of natural healthcare use sodium bicarbonate to defend against various health ailments, including the common cold, kidney disease, diabetes, the flu, and even cancer. Baking soda can be absorbed through the skin when used as a bath soak or as a nebulizer to treat lung conditions.
Identifying Cancer with Baking Soda
Recent research indicates that baking soda is a useful agent in identifying cancer cell growth. Acids accumulate in cancerous areas, converting bicarbonate into carbon dioxide. MRI scans, conducted by a United Kingdom cancer research group, showed increased sensitivity in detecting changes in bicarbonate levels, particularly in mice diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer.
Cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment, which is significantly lower in pH than surrounding tissue. The MRI sensitivity increased over 20,000 times in experiments with mice. The study’s lead scientist, Professor Kevin Brindle, highlighted the potential for this technique as a highly-sensitive early warning system for signs of cancer. MRI scans could pick up abnormal pH levels in cancer, aiding in pinpointing the disease’s presence and response to treatment.
Baking Soda Suppresses Cancer Growth Rate
Cancer cells generate energy through anaerobic glycolysis, relying on glucose as the primary fuel source. This metabolic pathway produces acidic metabolites like lactic acid. Studies reveal that extracellular pH in cancerous regions is generally lower than in normal tissue.
An acidic environment stimulates invasive tumor growth. Sodium bicarbonate has been shown to increase tumor pH, slowing spontaneous metastases in metastatic breast cancer mouse models. It also reduces lymph node involvement and lessens the likelihood of cancer spreading to the liver.
Researchers suggest that increasing systemic pH levels with buffers like sodium bicarbonate can lower peritumoral and intratumoral acidosis. This reduction in tumor acid levels, observed in mouse models, results in decreased tumor growth and metastasis without adversely affecting blood or unaffected tissue pH concentrations.
Using baking soda may enhance the effects of conventional chemotherapy, as tumor acidosis promotes chemoresistance with specific drugs. Baking soda could potentially improve pH levels for those undergoing standard cancer treatment.
Research indicates that baking soda, combined with other natural healing strategies, can be used to defend against cancer and strengthen immune coordination. However, given the complexity of cancer, no single therapy should be considered a cure. No treatment can achieve such a task.
How to Use Baking Soda in Your Body?
Baking soda is beneficial for increasing pH concentrations in an acidic state. Unlike baking powder, baking soda does not contain aluminum. Preferred brands like Bob’s Red Mill and Frontier source sodium bicarbonate directly from the ground in its natural environment.
Safety of Baking Soda Treatment for Cancer
While each tumor has unique traits, balancing and creating a slightly alkaline internal body environment is generally beneficial. pH strip testing, using both urine and saliva, should be done in conjunction with sodium bicarbonate treatments. Continuous monitoring is essential to avoid health hazards, including reduced stomach pH concentration, kidney complications, and alkalosis. Charting pH levels throughout the day and avoiding consumption within 30 minutes of a meal helps manage potential risks.
The Baking Soda Protocol
Consume this drink only when your pH test results are acidic. Avoid drinking it 30 minutes before or after a meal to preserve stomach acid secretions and promote proper digestion. The beverage neutralizes pH, buffers stomach acid, and lowers acidosis. Drink the following mixture throughout the day until pH levels stabilize between 7.0 and 8.0.
Ingredients:
Tall glass ½ tsp baking soda 2 tbs fresh lemon juice 8 oz. purified water Directions:
Mix baking soda with fresh lemon juice or organic apple cider vinegar, resulting in a foam or fizz, which is normal. Once bubbling stops, add water to the mixture and drink it all at once.
